Moong Dal Kheer | Moong Dal Payasam

Moong dal payasam is a tasty and creamy sweet dish. Made with split yellow lentils, jaggery and coconut milk. Delicious and very easy to make. Moong dal payasam is very popular sweet recipe in the state of kerala. Usually served during Onam festival sadya (Feast).

Ingredients : 250 gms Moong Dal, 500 gms Jaggery, 1 Coconut, 1 teaspoon Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder, 1/2 teaspoon Dry Ginger powder, 1/2 cup Vanila custard powder.

Ghee as required, For Garnishing:- 1/4 cup coconut pieces, 1/4 cup Cashew nut (Kaju), 1/4 cup Raisins (Kismis), Few Almonds (Badam) and Pistachio.
