Olan Kerala Style

Olan, is a side dish that is part of the Kerala cuisine. It is a light and subtle-flavored dish prepared from white pumpkin and Red pumpkin and black-eyed peas, French Beans coconut milk and with coconut oil. It is usually served as part of a Sadya.

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Cooking Time : 20 mins
Soaking Time: 2-3 hours
Serves : 4


Ingredients : Red Pumpkin 250 gms, White Pumpkin 250 gms, French Beans 1/2 cup, Black eyed Beans (Chawli) 50 gms, (Soaked and Cooked), Green Chilli 6 nos, Salt as per taste, Coconut MILK extract (Second extract) 1 1/2 cup, Coconut MILK extract (First extract) 1 cup, Coconut Oil 2 tablespoon, Curry Leaves.
